Flexfit Donated 500 Hats to Habilitat to...

16 September 2011

Description

Flexfit has just made a donation of 500 hats to Habilitat, a residential non-profit rehabilitation treatment center located in beautiful and tranquil Kaneohe, Hawaii.

Habilitat, Inc. has recently celebrated its 40 year anniversary of providing in-patient rehabilitation treatment to residents who come from all over the world to receive help for various addiction problems. According to Habilitat spokesperson, Gabriel Collazo, “Habilitat has enjoyed extraordinary success in the field of rehabilitation, boasting a 56% success, nearly three times higher than the national average at the five year mark, post graduation from our program.”

Even more impressive, Habilitat has been a self-supporting non-profit, therapeutic community for 40 years. Because of Habilitat’s extremely high success rate in helping its residents to overcome addiction, as well as providing mentoring and career training as part of its program, people come from all over the world to seek treatment at Habilitat. This often means leaving loved ones behind, and patients enter Habilitat at their lowest point with very little to call their own. It is for this reason that Habilitat’s annual Christmas and Holiday seasonal celebration is so important for residents’ collective morale.

Flexfit’s donation of 500 hats, in addition to donations provided by other companies, will ensure that all 115 Habilitat residents are given a Christmas gift box for the 2011 holiday season. In addition to Flexfit hats, each resident’s Christmas gift box will also include clothing, shoes and other necessary items that will see residents through to the following year. “Because Habilitat is located in Hawaii, Flexfit hats will be used to provide cool shade for our residents during our many work and recreational activities,” explains Collazo.

Gabriel Collazo goes on to express that as a non-profit, self-supporting rehabilitation center, product donations are a “lifeline” for the program and help Habilitat keep their operating costs down, “allowing the program to allocate its funds to what really matters,” says Collazo, “helping people!”

Other companies that have generously donated products to Habilitat’s Christmas gift boxes during past holiday seasons have included: True Religion, Rocawear, Ecko Unlimited, Quiksilver and Nike.
